# SideNav

> Divergences, open decisions, and undocumented gaps for SideNav.

## Gaps in the current rules

* **No standalone SideNav component exists in `core`.** This is the central gap this whole page
documents — see the main page for the full inventory of what exists instead (the rail, the
deprecated `legacy-web` `SideNav`, and the bespoke `primary-navigation` application).
* **`TITAN-GAP-29`'s own "What ships today" does not yet mention the `legacy-web` `SideNav` or
the `primary-navigation` application** — it was written from the rail's side of the question
alone. Both are real, additional evidence for the same open decision, found while researching
this page, and worth folding into that entry's "What ships today" the next time it is revised.
* **Whether `primary-navigation` is meant to be the system's long-term answer, or a piece of
legacy infrastructure being phased out, was not determined.** Its changelog shows active,
recent production deploys, which argues against calling it purely legacy — but nothing states
whether new applications are expected to plug into it or build their own chrome.
* **No accessibility pattern has been verified against any real Titan implementation**, since
none exists. The WAI-ARIA guidance cited on the main page is general, external guidance, not a
  Titan-specific rule.
