# Invoca for Salesforce Sales Cloud: Integration overview

> Learn what the Invoca for Salesforce Sales Cloud integration does, which Salesforce editions it supports, and where to go to install it. This is the first article in the setup series.

Salesforce is a leading Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, used by businesses around the world to track contact and activity with current and potential customers. This is the first article in a series that covers what you need to set up, support, and succeed with the Invoca for Salesforce Sales Cloud integration, including:

* What’s possible with the integration
* Some background knowledge you’ll need to properly set it up
* Step-by-step directions to install your integration
* FAQs and troubleshooting help

## Why choose Invoca for Salesforce Sales Cloud

By connecting Salesforce to your Invoca account, you can send data to Salesforce in real-time, giving your agents marketing campaign and caller demographic information to help personalize the caller experience.

The integration also automates closed loop reporting — the process of sending the outcome of each call (such as a won opportunity) from Salesforce back to Invoca. Invoca can then share these reported conversions with other marketing platforms, such as Google Ads, Meta, and Adobe.

Here are a few things you can do with this integration:

* Understand which marketing campaigns and offers are driving phone calls.
* Automatically create new Leads or append call data to existing Leads, Contacts, Accounts/Person Accounts, Opportunities, and Cases.
* Provide campaign and caller demographic information to enable reps to deliver a more personalized experience.
* Understand the outcome of each call with automated closed loop reporting.

## How it works (the basics)

Invoca sends call data to Salesforce and associates the data to the matching Contact, Lead, Account/Person Account, Opportunity, and Case. If there isn’t a matching record, a new Lead can be created. For Leads or Opportunities associated with a call, you have the option to report a conversion to Invoca for selected Lead Statuses or Opportunity Stages.

## Salesforce editions supported

| Edition                                                                     | Support                                                                               |
| :-------------------------------------------------------------------------- | :------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer | Fully supported. |
| Professional | Possible if you can add on support for additional custom fields (see the note below). |
| Service Cloud, Financial Services Cloud, and other industry-specific clouds | Compatible depending on your edition. |

The package was developed with Sales Cloud in mind. Many industry-specific clouds can still be compatible, as long as your edition supports custom objects, web services APIs, and access to the Lead, Contact, Account, Opportunity, and Case objects. To test compatibility, you can attempt to install the package from the public AppExchange listing.

The package is Shield ready, meaning it is compatible with Salesforce Shield encryption.

<Note>
  **Note**

  You may be able to use the Invoca app with Salesforce Professional edition if you are able to add-on the support for additional custom fields.
