See ButtonGroup for the decided part of this page.
Known issues
No divergence is currently recorded specifically for ButtonGroup.
Gaps in the current rules
- ButtonGroup and
FormInput’s type="segmentedButton" overlap with no stated rule between
them. Source ships both as ways to render a visually grouped row of buttons — one a plain
container, the other bound to a form value via value/onChange. Nothing in source or this
documentation states when to reach for which.
- The design library’s
Type axis (Solid, Ghost, Icon — confirmed directly from Figma, not
Code Connect) doesn’t fully align with code’s variant values (contained, outlined,
text). Solid/Ghost map cleanly to contained/outlined. Two values have no confirmed
counterpart on the other side: code’s text variant has no matching Figma Type, and
Figma’s Icon type — an icon-only grouped-button treatment — has no confirmed code
equivalent. Whether an icon-only ButtonGroup pattern exists in code under a different name,
or was never built, is unconfirmed.
- Zero production usage is confirmed —
utilization.md reports no adoption at all. Every
fact on the main page is verified against source and Storybook, but none of it has been
exercised in a real composition.
