Gaps in the current rules

  • Whether a Banner-equivalent exists in the Figma design library is unconfirmed. This research covered code, tests, stories, and the live Storybook index only — Figma verification was out of scope for this pass (no authenticated Figma access was available). An absence in code is not proof of an absence in design intent; someone with Figma access should check before concluding this is only a code gap.
  • Whether any application has already built its own ad hoc product-wide banner is unconfirmed. No such pattern was found via the code and utilization data available in this checkout, but that data does not cover every consuming application’s full source.
  • What such a component’s severity model, dismissal behavior, and placement in page chrome should be is entirely undecided. Nothing on the main page proposes an answer, because nothing exists to base one on — inventing these rules here would be exactly the “confident invented answer” this documentation’s own standards warn against.
  • Whether the right fix is building a new component or extending Alert with a product-scope option is undecided, and is a real design decision, not a documentation one.
