See Spinner for the decided part of this page.

Known issues

The larger open question this page surfaces isn’t a naming mismatch — it’s a mismatch of scope. CircularProgress (this page’s subject) has exactly one recorded usage anywhere in the product and no Storybook story at all. A separate, unrelated component in the same package, Loader (a five-bar bounce animation, paired with LoaderOverlay), is used dozens of times across dozens of applications and has its own Storybook entry, but has no page anywhere in this documentation site. Someone arriving at “Spinner” in the navigation looking for the thing their product actually uses for full-page loading will not find it here.

Gaps in the current rules

  • No Storybook story exists for CircularProgress — confirmed against both the source tree and the live Storybook index. This page’s “Live example” section has nothing to embed.
  • Whether CircularProgress is intentionally the low-adoption, narrowly-scoped choice — or whether Loader should actually be “Spinner” in this documentation’s vocabulary — is undecided. This page documents CircularProgress because that is the mapping TITAN-DIV-10 already records, but the adoption data raises a real question about whether that mapping serves readers well.
  • Whether Loader/LoaderOverlay should get their own page, or whether “Spinner” should be redirected to cover them instead, is unresolved and out of scope for this pass to decide.
  • Which of error/info/success/warning as color values route through a Titan-named token, versus the framework’s own default palette, is unconfirmed. Only colorPrimary is themed in CircularProgress.overrides.ts.
  • variant="determinate" is undemonstrated for this component anywhere in this codebase. Whether it is ever used, and what it looks like themed, is unconfirmed.
  • No design-side confirmation of this component was possible in this pass. Figma verification was out of scope for this research; everything on the main page is sourced from code alone — there is no test file, no story, and no override beyond the one file cited.
